Mit “In Circles” präsentiert Holding Absence den dritten Song ihres kommenden Albums “The Greatest Mistake Of My Life”, welches am 16.04.21 erscheint. Bereits veröffentlichte Auskopplungen sind “Afterlife” und “Beyond Believe”.
Während es bei den ersten beiden Songs noch etwas härter und lauter zugeht, steht “In Circles” mit seiner melancholischen Stimmung und der ruhigen Atmosphäre im klaren Kontrast dazu.
“”In Circles” is a really subtly exciting song for our band. Lyrically, it commentates on the mundane and cyclical nature of day to day life… Pointing out just how dangerous it can be to live your life without ambition. With such a strong lyrical vision, we made sure that the song and video followed suit, playing out in an almost hypnotic fashion. We think this track is really special and will hopefully be enough to encourage people to reach out of their lives a little bit.” – So Sänger Lucas Woodland selbst über die neue Single.
Und dieses Gefühl, welches er dem Song zusagt, bringt die Band aus dem walisischen Cardiff mehr als deutlich rüber. Das Gefühl der Melancholie, die den gesamten Song über begleitet, breitet sich direkt beim Anhören in einem aus und dennoch spürt man die Hoffnung, die die fünf Jungs inszenieren wollen.
Im Herbst plant Holding Absence eine Europatour, im Gepäck haben sie dann nicht nur die neuen Songs, sondern auch die Post-Hardcore Band Static Dress.
